Ana and Alex first met during a party that was being hosted at Ana’s house. He was a coworker of one of her family members. They spent the entire night talking long after the party had ended. The timing wasn’t right for them and they went on with their separate lives for almost two years.

Alex sent Ana a message late one night while she was working a graveyard shift. She was reluctant but eventually gave in and gave him a chance. They went out to dinner and it was like no time had ever passed. The two talked about movies, music, and their independent futures. The two shared incredible conversation and they realized they balanced each other out very well. They dated unofficially for a year before he asked her, “You’re my girlfriend, right?” to which she replied, “No, you never officially asked me.” On December 22nd 2020, Alex officially asked Ana to be his girlfriend and she said yes.

Ana & Alex decided they wanted to spend their lives together and travel as much as possible. Ana talked so much about traveling that Alex got himself a passport so they could do just that. He had bought a ring the week before their travel plans to Japan. He would carry the ring around in his pocket for the entire trip until he found the right moment to pop the question. One morning, they decided to go to Ueno Zoo and spend the day at the street festival they had there. He decided to rent a little white swan boat in the middle of Shinobazu pond surrounded by cherry blossom trees at the Ueno Park. He was extremely nervous when they paddled out to the middle of the lake and came to a stop. He got on one knee, told her all the reasons he fell in love and spoke from the heart. He pulled out the ring and asked her if she would make him the happiest man alive.

She said yes.
